Distillery's 100,000th guest cheer

AN award-winning Welsh whisky producer has welcomed its 100,000th guest since the distillery's visitor centre first threw open its doors.

The Penderyn Distillery, based in the Brecon Beacons, and first opened during June 2008 has just reached the milestone.

Peterborough resident Andy McGurk, who helped the distillery to reach the milestone, was treated to a special behind-the-scenes tour at whisky production along with a tasting session.

Stephen Davies, managing director at Penderyn, said they had welcomed Prince Charles there and added: "This fantastic milestone shows that tourism in South Wales is continuing to thrive."
