THERE may not have been a Doctor in the house but there was still lots going on at Margam Castle.

Sylvester McCoy was due to have been among the guests at the Heroes and Legends memorabilia show.

But the actor was forced to pull out at the last minute to complete reshoots on The Hobbit in New Zealand.

The event, held over the weekend, still had a Tardis, Dalek exhibition, Terminator figures and much more to keep sci-fi fans entertained.

Other attractions included a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament.

"It went really well," said organiser Steve Speakman.

This was a great day- friendly people, and the guy with the Dalek collection should be working for the Dr. Who experience in the bay. As for the people bemoaing the karaoke- a lot of it was better than that manufactured pop rubbish you get on the X-Factor and the like!!

Holding the entrance fee to a pound a go was very sensible too. It was a very tidy way of spending a couple of hours. Mind you, I could have done without the karaoke tent at the entrance. I overheard a passer-by saying, "How can people sing that badly without trying?"
