A NEW synchronised swimming club for adults in Swansea will hold its first pool session next week.

The new club session — which comes under the new City of Swansea Aquatics Club — will take place on Tuesdays at Bishop Gore for anyone over the age of 16.

The club has been holding sessions for juniors since the summer.

Coach Holly Curson said: "There are currently two sessions running and we hope to grow the club and attract complete beginners who want to get fit and enjoy a new activity. We have an exciting future ahead.

"Synchro is a sport that continues to develop and has had great exposure at the recent London Olympic Games.

"It is all about teamwork and skill in the water. It is a great way to build new friendships and try something new and exciting. It's also a great way of improving fitness and the club aims to cater for complete beginners and individuals coming back to the sport."

Mark Tancock, regional business manager for Swim Wales, added: "Swansea Synchro has the chance to grow into an established club which in turn will support the community in offering financially sustainable aquatic sports for everyone."

Swansea Synchro Juniors takes place in Olchfa Comprehensive School's pool on Wednesdays, 7pm to 8pm, while adult sessions will take place in Bishop Gore Comprehensive School's pool from Tuesday between , 5pm to 6pm.
