Chain giant Caffe Nero sets sights on new Carmarthen branch

By LeeMacGregor  |  Posted: February 14, 2013

Comments (3) COFFEE shop chain Caffe Nero is set to open a new branch in Carmarthen town centre.

The cafe giant will open soon at the former Field and Trek shop in Lammas Street.

Business leaders at Carmarthen Chamber of Trade and Commerce said it proved that big name stores are interested in moving into the town.

However, manager of Merlin's Walk shopping centre John Nash, which is opposite the proposed cafe said it was not the most ideal spot for it, adding: "There's the walkway with those pillars next to it and there is no room to have outdoor seating because of the crossing outside."

Proof that Carmarthen is thriving whilst Swansea continues to die on its feet. Says it all really. Very grim state of affairs for Wales second city

Big multinationals with fancy high paid accountants putting small family firms out of business - another success for the capitalist class... Great.... Just Great!
