A LORRY containing between 30 and 40 cows has overturned near Pembrey Airport.

Military, fire crews and police were all in attendance at the scene shortly after the incident happened at 1.50pm.

Stephen Steel, who runs the café at the airport, said the lorry was carrying between 30 to 40 cattle.

He said: "I was the first on the scene, the driver is fine, but the military, the fire service and police are all there now.

"It was a cattle lorry, the guy has got land alongside the airport, but is based in Builth Wells.

"The resident farmer was getting the cattle out of the back of the lorry.

"They seem to be calm at the moment."

Mr Steel added that the lorry had "only 100 yards to go".

"The winds caught him and dropped him over.

"He's in a ditch in a field."
