GOLDEN couple Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas could not contain their excitement at the Oscars following the Swans win.

Swansea-born actress Catherine said she was delighted with Swansea City's League Cup triumph.

She was attending the Oscars in Los Angeles but got up early to watch the match.

"It was one of the best things to happen today," she said.

Her husband Michael was also raving about the win to reporters on the red carpet.

He said: "Swansea's won, haven't you heard? Very happy."

Catherine along with Welsh songstress Shirley Bassey took to the stage at the 85th annual Academy Awards in Hollywood.

The theme of the ceremony was musical theatre and Catherine opened up the musical tributes with a performance of All That Jazz from the 2002 musical adaptation of the popular Broadway show Chicago.

It was a 10 years ago when the 43-year-old won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2003 for her part in the movie of the musical Chicago, playing Velma Kelly.

I was golfing on the Pennard course when their plane passed over us, a couple of years back I took my hat off and gave them a wave, I take my hat off again for their compassion, Swansea City have indeed some very down to earth stars, be they Footballers, Managers and coaches, entertainers or ordinary citizens. We'll obviously have an influx in the near future to swell the ranks no doubt, so you'd better stay with us I reckon Michael, Swansea City is now your home from home. We're on our way to the Stars, your now our elected chauffeur ;-)

Would she know where Liberty Stadium is, come to think of it had she ever heard of The Vetch (for the PLASTIC brigade that was our home before Liberty) But if she can keep plugging the Swans around the States can't be that bad, can it ?
