The Great British Bag-athon event held by Cwmbran Shopping Centre in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) received 85 bags of items which could equate to £1,700 for the charity as the donated items will now go on sale in BHF shops in the local area.

The Great British Bag-athon at Cwmbran Shopping Centre challenged the local community to donate their lovely clothing, toys, DVDs, accessories and CDs.  100% of the proceeds made from the donated items will be invested in the fight against heart disease to help people in the local community.

Gerry Hutchings, Centre Manager at Cwmbran Shopping Centre said, "Thanks to all the Cwmbran community who took part in the Bag-athon challenge and donated bags, it really will make an enormous difference to the thousands of people in our region who suffer from heart disease."

There's still time to contribute to The Great British Bag-athon by bring a bag of lovely things to the nearest BHF shop.  For more information about The Great British Bag-athon, go to bhf.org.uk/bagathon or visit your local BHF shop.  To find your nearest BHF shop call 0844 412 5000.
