Swansea City's Ashley Williams

ARSENAL are rumoured to be preparing a £35 million double bid for Ashley Williams and Michu.

Reports in London suggest the Swansea City duo are at the top of Arsene Wenger's hit list.

The Frenchman is under pressure from Gunners supporters after a summer of relative inactivity in the transfer market.

Only 20-year-old striker Yaya Sanogo has arrived at the Emirates during a close season in which attempts to land the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez, Luiz Gustavo and Wayne Rooney all failed.

Wenger was heckled by fans on Saturday when Arsenal lost 3-1 at home to Aston Villa.

He is in the market for a centre-back and has long been linked with Williams.

Michu has also caught the eye after a sensational first Premier League season in which he scored 18 goals.

Why sell 2 key players for £35m? The amount the club gets from staying in the Premiership should surely be the important figure!

Probably a ploy for Arsenal supporters to think Wenger is actually doing something about his fledging club.
