Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Port Talbot.

Detectives say the woman, 38, was unhurt but left "very shaken" after two males approached her in Lake Road and pushed her into bushes nearby and tried to grab her handbag.

During a struggle the victim retained a grip on her bag and both suspects later ran off empty handed.

The incident happened at around 5.10pm yesterday evening.

Officers have released a brief description of the pair who are described as being aged between 14 and 16 years old and wearing dark coloured fleeces with the hoods up and silver or grey jogging bottoms.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any relevant information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
